Relax Momma! Guide for a self-care treat
While is hard to take some time for yourself without the baby or the kids, but it is necessary to have a moment for yourself. I usually do it once in a while and I am working on doing it every week at least. Even, if you take a bath or go for a walk alone, that counts as well.
I will leave here a small guide to achieve a self-care treat:
1. Delegate if you can.
Basically, tell your other half to get the kids for a stroll in the park or just stay home with them. Anyway, you shouldn't be delegating if both of you are the parents because it is not motherhood, it is parenthood :) or if you are single mom, please delegate to your family or friends, you need the rest too! It is ok to ask for help, remember this!
2. Book a treat or sometime for yourself.
You can go for a facial or massage, so please get the phone and book it right away, you deserve it! In my case, I usually go for a walk by myself, it is nice to be out with no worries around you, some fresh air and little exercise that it is good for your soul.
3. Try to relax, and stop worrying.
I know that it is easy to say but leave the phone away, and don't ask how are the kids doing? you will worry about and start panicking that you need to get back to them. This is your time and this is a time for yourself, so enjoy it as long it will last!
4. Plan it for next time.
It will be good if you say that every Sunday, for example, I will do something for myself like massage, spa treatment, coffee with friends, a walk around the beach, gym visit or nice warm bath. Make it a routine, you will feel like a different person, you will boost your energy and you will improve your mood!
Now, plan it and enjoy some time for yourself!
